Instruction for Abstract Submission
UPDATE: Final deadline for abstract submission is January 15, 2025
The 22nd International Congress of Cytology held in Florence, May 11-15 2025 is accepting abstracts submissions from 1 September 2024 to 1 December 2024.

Requisite:

All faculty members who wish to submit an abstract will need to pay the registration fee

Should an Oral Presentation be chosen the 1st Author will need to be the presenting Author. No alternative presenting Author will be accepted.

Only one abstract can be presented as a 1 st Author but you can be Co-Author of multiple abstracts

Should a 1st Author fail to register before the deadline the abstract will be discarded.

Submission of Abstracts

Deadline for online submission: 1 st December 2024

All abstracts have to be submitted exclusively through the online web module. Abstracts submitted through other means will not be accepted.

Each abstract will have to be submitted according to the instructions listed on the web module

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Maximum lenght of text (including title, authors, affiliation, objectives,material and methods, results, conclusion and references) is 2500 letters, including spaces (we suggest to use Word’s word count feature)
Only the English language is to be used for text redaction
Do not include Figures or tables in the text

STRUCTURE OIF THE TEXT
Title: Max 100 letters, spaces included
Subtitle: list the chosen Congress topic
Authors: Max. 10 (You may appear as the 1st Author only once but you can appear as co-author in several abstracts)
The Authors will appear as dotted Name Initials and full Surname with the affiliation in small numbers (do not add academic titles such as MD, PhD, Dr, Prof etc.)
Example: G.A. White, C. Olumbu, X.Y. Chang
Affiliation: Department, Hospital or University, City and Country for all Authors. Each Affiliation needs to be identified by the appropriate number and separated from the following one by a semicolon.
Example:
1 Unit of Anatomic Pathology, Department of Biomedical and Neuromotor Sciences, University of Bologna, Bologna, Italy; 2 Department of Translational Research and of New Technologies in Medicine and Surgery, University of Pisa, Italy

References need to be numbered as small arabic numbers according to the text citation order.

As many as the first 3 Authors will be listed followed by “et al” if more than three.
Journals need to be listed according to the Pubmed criteria.
Multiple reference numbers will be separated by commas and if more than three they will be indicated as a range (example 1,2-5)
Please include Doi Number if known.

Evaluation Criteria
The Scientific Committee will score the abstracts submitted for either Oral presentation or as E-Poster within each of the Congress accepted Topics and will mark each them from 1 to 10 on each of the following criteria:

Originality/innovation of paper

Methodology and techniques
-
Clinical or diagnostic impact of paper

Overall quality of scientific english used in the abstract
All papers with a score of =>20 will be accepted
Abstract acceptance
The 1st Author of the submitted abstract will receive an e-mail confirmation by 15 January 2025 stating whether the abstract has been accepted or not for presentation as Oral Presentation or E-Poster.

Oral presentations
The 1st Author of abstracts accepted as Oral Presentation will be notified of the date, room, time allocation and time of presentation by 1st February 2025.

Abstracts accepted as E-Posters
The PDF files (vertical A4 format- <10mB) of accepted E-Posters which will include Authors, Affiliation, Objectives, Methods, Graphs & Tables, Results, References, Conclusions will have to be e-mailed to the Congress Secretary by 25 March 2025 to allow the Organizers to upload them on the Congress Platform. All E-Posters of regularly registered 1st Authors will be visible on the Congress Platform by May 1st 2025 and only registered Participants will be able to view them.
